"Do I need to come bare-faced for the consultation?"
Not necessarily, you should come as you usually are. So, if you're used to not wearing make up, then don't, but if most of the time you are with light make up, then do.
However, should we see it's necessary, we might need to remove a tiny bit in order to get the most accurate result. You can always retouch once the consultation is done.
"How many makeup items I can bring for checking?"
There's really no certain number, but try to include your frequently used base, corrector, blush, eye, brows, & lips to get the most out of it. Anyway, we're pretty sure you'll understand the result & be able to tell by yourself after the consultation.
"Can you directly tell what's the best color for me?"
We can more or less tell if something is super off, but to find your best personal color spectrum, we need to individually drape & constantly compare over 150 colors on you, and only then we can be sure of the result. Sometimes your best spectrum are the colors you never even think of wearing ever.
"Can I do e-consultation?"
Currently we don't offer online consultation due to technical limitation of available technology. Our studio is specifically designed & equipped with special lighting to neutralize any possible color distortion.
"Can my personal color change from time to time?"
Yes, absolutely! Personal color is based on your skintone & overall image, so if you undergo certain lifestyle changes that significantly changes your skintone, or a purposeful image-shift, your personal color can also change.
"Is it possible to get different results if I do consultation elsewhere?"
Yes, result might slightly vary if we are using different color system, however generally never too far away in terms of tone. At Maison Kolori™, we combine both Korean & Japanese system to what we believe is the most easily applicable personal color result. There's also always a certain degree of subjectivity of each colorist, so it's important to let your colorist know if you have certain preference or purposefully would like to portray a certain image. For example, some clients prefer to look pale-er. There's really no absolute right or wrong, the most important thing is how you can use your result to improve your daily dressing.
"What if I don't like my season's color spectrum?"
This is more common than you think! Most of us already have a certain associations to a certain color, so it may take sometimes to fully embrace your palette, the key is to keep an open mind. Try to take photos of yourself, and try to see what the color does to you, instead of the color itself. Isn't it nicer to get "you look stunning in this dress" instead of "your dress looks stunning"?
